Balancefrom vs Hulkfit: Which Weightlifting Plates Should You Go With?

Ok so you want to lift weights at home instead of having to go to the gym and deal with all the drama there right? That's not a bad way to go, after all you save money on gas and sometimes the home is just that much more comfy all around. That said you'll need some weights to benchpress or deadlift or whatever it is you fit people do these days. We got two brands to compare, Balancefrom and Hulkfit. We found that they both have cast iron plates on Amazon under $20. So let's dig in and see what we can figure out. In the interest of keeping the comparison simple we will compare the 1" standard plate at 2.5 pounds.

Below are the Balancefrom standard 2.5 pound plates. For a set of four you can get them for $19.63 and it has a 4.6 star score on over 4900 ratings.

BalanceFrom Cast Iron Plate Weight Plate for Strength Training

Below is the Hulkfit cast iron standard plate. For a single plate of 2.5 pounds you can get it on Amazon for $7.40. It also has a 4.7 star score on over 3200 ratings.

Now what's interesting is the difference in price. Balancefrom looks like it can give you a much better offer than Hulkfit. Since there is no set of 4 for Hulkfit we simply have to take the single price and multiply it by 4. There for to get the same amount of Hulkfit plates as Balancefrom you would have to pay $29.60. That's not an insignificant difference. We're talking essentially $10 in savings if you go with Balancefrom.

Feedback wise they appear to be neck and neck, with similar scores and ratings amounts. We've heard that Hulkfit as a brand focuses more specially on weight training where as Balancefrom makes other fitness items. While that maybe could allude to Hulkfit being a better brand for weight lifting, we can't see on the surface any real difference between the cast iron plates.

While there are comparable prices for the other weight amounts (i.e the prices are closer for 5 pounds, 10 pounds, etc...) Balancefrom's ability to offer better prices on bundle purchases is what in our opinion gives it the edge. Hulkfit unfortunately only offers singles that you have to purchase one at a time and there is no deal for when you buy multiple of the units. Or at least there is no such deal on Amazon.
