Tools can be expensive, so when we come across a brand that has a nice selection under $20, we like to see if the brand is worthy of consideration. The brand we are looking at today is one called Duratech. Aside from the fact that the teal color is kinda cool looking and really good at making the brand stand out, let's see if there is any kind of quality to back it up.
First listing we took for the sample is the mini wrench set. Currently on Amazon for $19.99 and it has a 4.6 star score on over 1,200 ratings.
The second listing we chose is the Stubby screwdriver. Currently on Amazon for only $12.99 and it has a 4.7 star score on over 450 ratings.
We ran both listings through Review Meta and both listings passed. It's always nice to see products with scores above 4.5 not having any issues. As we look at the rest of the catalogue that is under $20 from the brand we tend to see a lot of ratings that are in the 4.3 to 4.6 range. With many of the products hitting the 4.5 score pretty consistently.
All in all we like what we see from this brand. Granted the amount of ratings are on the lower side, many of the listings still find themselves only with ratings in the double digits. That is not necessarily bad. All it means is that this brand is probably a bit newer to Amazon and it will take time for them to build up enough of a sales record to get more ratings that will solidify the scores. Until then, we see nothing in the data to lead us to think the brand is bad and not worth consideration.
