During our research on everyday carry products on Amazon we came across a brand that we hadn't really noticed before. A brand called Tacticon. Whenever we come across a newer brand we always like to dig a little bit to see if they are a good one.
Chat GPT didn't have enough information to run an analysis on the brand, so we'll just do this the old fashioned way. We'll pick some Amazon listings that are all under $20 and see what we can discover on the information there.
First we'll start with their Halo magnets. They can hold up to 25 pounds and they have adhesive backing so they can stick in more places. You also get them in a two pack which is pretty cool. Currently going for $14.95 on Amazon and it has a 4.6 star score on over 1900 ratings. Not too bad. We ran the listing through Review Meta to make sure it was good feedback and they did confirm the ratings.
So a pretty good start. Let's see what else we can find. We also came across a roll up dump pouch that they have currently going for $16.95. It also has a 4.8 start score on over 300 ratings. There was one small issue. When we ran it through review meta, they found that of the 100 or so reviews that the listing has, over 70% of them seemed unnatural. The good news is the feedback of the reviews that meta did deem credible were still good, coming in at a 4.7 star score.
Let's check out one more listing to see what else we can figure out. We decided on the 2 point rifle sling. Currently going for $9.95 and it has a 4.8 star score on over 300 ratings. It does however have the same problem as the previous item. The bulk of the reviews they have were deemed unnatural by Review Meta. At the same time the reviews that were credible still had a great score.
So what does it all mean in the end? Well it's kinda hard to tell. This is of course just conjecture, it is very possible that in the beginning Tacitcon made a big push to get people to leave feedback on their Amazon listings. This coordinated effort may have lead to behaviors that is making Review Meta give pause to what they are seeing. That said even in spite of that fact, the information that has been given that Review Meta deems credible still shows that Tacticon makes some good products. They do have some listings where the feedback is bad, which is to be expected. No company makes all great products all the time, every now and then you will have duds. The products that are good though do appear to be solid and backed up by enough information to prove it. We of course always recommend you do some research yourself to verify the product is for your standard before you buy it.
