From one of our older articles about Ernie Ball picks vs Tortex, we decided to do a little quick analysis on the Tortex guitar picks. Technically the brand is Jim Dunlop, and Tortex are the name of the picks themselves. Since it appears though that people think Tortex is a brand name, we figured we can still write this article. On face everything looks good. That said it's always worth a little bit of a double check to make sure everything is on the up and up. So let's pull a couple of samples and see what we can find out.
First listing we chose is the standard listing of the picks themselves. Basically on this listing you have all the different colors that represent different thicknesses and they can come in 24, 36, or even 72 packs. For this post we chose the .73 mm yellow pick at 24 pack, which comes out to $8.23. The listing also has a 4.9 star score on over 4,000 ratings.
The second listing we chose is the variety pack. 12 picks, (2 of each size ) for only $9.15 on Amazon and it has a 4.8 star score on over 800 ratings.
Both listings passed with flying colors the Review Meta analysis. Which is very godo news because when you look at the other listings that Tortex has to offer, you are seeing amazing feedback across the board. We're talking 4.5 or higher in the first 20 listings on the Amazon search results. We dug even deeper in the samples to see if we could find any neutral or negative traits in the reviews. Nope, all we see are positive traits. It hits green on the things that we like to see like durability, quality, appearance, and value.
All in all it's hard for us to not give Tortex a stamp of very good brand. They simply smash it. From the amount of selection they have available, to the prices, to the amazing feedback scores. They just score on so many good levels, we feel confident to say that they are indeed a very good brand and that you should be happy with a purchase from them.
